If you haven’t seen Dame Stephanie Shirley’s TED talk on: Why do ambitious women have flat heads? take a few minutes and watch the link below. Not only is she a bold courageous and determined woman, who has overcome great personal adversity, but her incredible sense of humor and spunk show that no matter how bad things get a little courage and a wry sense of humor can inspire. Watching it reminded me that often people do in fact understate the accomplishments of women in a very patronizing manner, that creativity and determination can open doors just like it did for “Steve,” but also that often in the struggles of entrepreneurship sometimes we forget to have fun and enjoy the moment together. Last but not least, never underestimate the importance of “Just getting to it.”
