Catherine Engelbert, First CEO of a major consulting company
Later this week when Catherine Engelbert officially takes her new position as CEO of Deloitte she will be making a little bit of business history as the first woman to ever be the CEO of a major accounting or consulting company. In her interview with CNBC’s Squawk on the Street she states that those companies that are able to quickly leverage technology as an enabler for their business will be the ones to watch. She also states that she plans to focus on creating a future with diverse leaders at Deloitte. She also points to building skill sets for higher wage jobs as being a critical factor in our economy. This seems to support a lot the theory that women tend to lose traction in career advancement because often pragmatic skills are not emphasized when speaking to groups of women in business.
