Net Neutrality and the Open Internet Order
In case you missed it last week the FCC published the new Open Internet Order, which reclassifies broadband internet as a telecommunications service under Title II of the Communications Act. These new rules provide that
- Broadband providers cannot block content
- Broadband providers cannot prioritize any content or traffic
- Broadband providers can not “impair or degrade lawful internet traffic” because of content
